Neon - Money talks app review

‘Neon – Money Talks is a mobile application that allows users earn money when they make calls for long period of time. The idea behind the app is very unique when you look at it from a distance as we don’t commonly find applications or platforms that pay money for making and receiving calls. So, apparently, Neon records voice calls to use in helping train AI and for that reason, if you register and start using the service, you will be rewarded for every minute of call done through the app.

In this article as the headline suggests, our main focus is breaking down the very important things to Note about Neon application, the earning methods and how to go about the onboarding process and finally, the pros and cons for users who may be wondering whether it’s a good source of passive income for them or not. From all I’ve mentioned, we actually have a lot to discuss, so let’s get down to business proper.

About Neon – Money Talks

Neon is a mobile application that is available on Both Playstore and App store and it’s a platform that is designed to reward users monetarily for allowing them record their calls. Therefore, as a user, you are expected to make your usual, natural calls with friends and family and while at it, you earn money every minute spent speaking to anyone over the phone.

The mobile application is only accessible to people in select countries, mostly developed countries of the world like United States of America, UK etc. so people in third world countries may not naturally be able to participate as the service has a target audience of which, unfortunately, they don’t fall under.

According to the information I could gather about the platform, the voice calls recorded are used in training Artificial Intelligence. As we all know, AI is the BIG thing in today’s world and most companies need raw data to be able to fine-tune AI. Some of the data needed may be different voices or images of people but in the case of neon, different voices are recorded and used in training the AI but the people involved get rewarded for allowing their calls to be recorded.

That’s basically how neon works and all it takes to onboard is to download their application on your device store, create an account and start earning money from the calls you normally make for free.

Earning Methods

Neon earning rate

There are two main ways to earn on Neon, one of which has already been mentioned because it’s the main way of earning on the platform but then, there is a referral program that is quite enticing in my opinion.

How does Neon referral program work? Well, you get $1 for each user you bring to the system i.e. you get credited with the aforementioned amount when you invite another person to download and sign up… But, don’t get too excited, the referral program is not as easy as it seems or sounds to the ears.

Your invitee must spend at least an hour on calls in order for you to be credited with the bonus and additionally, the referral acquisition process is quite cumbersome.

There is no such thing as Referral Link or Code on Neon — to invite someone, you have to get the person phone number, the number he or she intends using to sign up and make calls, and go to the Settings section on the app after you’ve signed up and click on Referrals > Create Referral, then paste the phone number in the section provided for it and send invite.

The number will be added to the list of pending referrals under your account and when the person eventually signs up and makes/receive calls for at least 60 minutes, you will be credited with $1 bonus for introducing such a user to the platform.

There is no limit to the number of users you can refer to neon but the referral process is enough discouragement for someone like me as it’s too stressful for the reward.

How to Get Started

The first step is to download Neon – Money Talks application from your application store (Playstore or App store) depending on your device OS.

Like I said earlier, people in third world countries may not able to enjoy the services provided by Neon unless they bypass the steps. You can find how to go about it on my telegram channel.

After you’re done signing up on the app, proceed to copy and paste the number of the person you want to call on the app in order to get credited with up to $0.05 cents per minute of call made. So the longer your spend on the calls, the more money you earn and the higher your overall income on the platform.

Neon Calling Rules

There are certain rules you need to adhere to in order to earn money through calling or receiving calls on Neon and they are as follows;

  • The calls must be natural and not orchestrated to just earn and game the system.
  • Since the calls are expected to be natural, you’re not allowed to mute the calls otherwise the earnings may not be credited to your balance and it may raise eyebrows of the administrators.
  • The maximum reward for a day is $30 after which, you’d have to wait till the next day to continue earning from the system.

How to Withdraw from Neon

Neon - money talks

This is actually the most interesting part, neon minimum withdrawal is on the low side. You only need about $0.10 cents to be allowed to place withdrawal. Unlike what is obtainable in many other earning platforms, the threshold is very low.

Once you have earned up to this threshold, click on settings, close to your balance, you will see the Cashout button boldly displayed on the screen. Tap on it and wait for payment.

Payments are made through tremendous, so once you get paid, a mail will be sent to your registered email notifying you of the money sent to you. Then you can claim it directly to your bank account, PayPal or even as gift cards depending on your personal preferences.

Is Neon – money talks Legit?

Neon poor rating on Playstore

Neon calling app actually seems legit but then, it’s not a perfect earning application or source of passive income if that’s what you’re looking for. Reason is, their earning rate isn’t so commendable.

$0.05 per minute isn’t really commendable, considering what they started with. Initially, users were earning up to $0.30 per minute till it was adjusted downwards to as low as what we have currently. So users now earn much less for same amount of time and effort, which doesn’t make sense.

Secondly, Neon has terrible reviews on most application stores owing to the fact that, the app gets buggy and slow from time to time and that is not very nice for an application that claims to be paying out money for just making calls.

Another suspicious thing about neon is the issue of recording calls for AI training”. While no one is compelled or forced to participate, the whole idea of recording phone calls feels more like a breach of privacy and as such, you need to bear that in mind before you participate otherwise you will end up selling very valuable data and information unknowingly for some paltry rewards. So bear in mind the facts.

However, overall, I would say Neon – Money talks actually pays users when it’s time for payouts just that it takes a day or two; so if you’re just there for the money, I don’t think you will have much issues or reasons to be concerned nor uncomfortable.

Pros Pros

Here is a summary of positive things about neon app, you ought to know;

  • Easy-to-use application interface
  • Fair referral rewards
  • Interesting earning methods
  • Very low minimum withdrawal threshold pegged at just 10 cents ($0.10)
  • Flexible payment methods — all thanks to tremendous.

Cons Cons

On the flip side, there are some negative aspects that are also worth noting;

  • Application gets buggy and slow from time to time.
  • Tremendous payout delays in some cases
  • Poor referral acquisition process.
  • The Neon – Money Talks application has terrible reviews and ratings across major app stores such as Playstore and App store.

Conclusion

‘Neon – Money Talks’ — a mobile app that pays in actual sense but if you are not comfortable with the idea of someone eavesdropping on your calls and voice exchanges with friends and family in the name of training AI, then it’s certainly not a platform for you.
